Artist Trading Cards by Kids, Part 3

It’s school time again and my HBBF introduced a new group of seventh grade CPS kids to collage with artist trading cards!  Glue sticks at the ready, they had decorative paper scraps and a year’s worth of WIRED magazine back issues to tear through.  They get a hands-on introduction to making collage art and ATCs in the same session.

Also, my HBBF is used to 1) digital media, and 2) college students.  He also learned a new mathematical formula:

glitter glue + kids = spectacular mess.

That was a new lesson for him.  I sealed the glittery cards in two layers of clear varnish to keep the glitter in place.  I think he will avoid the sparkly sticky stuff in the future.

Here are fifty ATC images of work by the kids.   This year saw the first card with a moving part.  The one with the moving part is the Pac-Man one.  Check them out!
