Recycled Bottles as a Gift Box

This is a great idea for a recycled materials packaging method from Ann Rezny of Des Plaines, Illinois.  She cut the bottoms off of two plastic pop bottles and fit one inside the other to make a gift box.  Gift ribbon held the recycled plastic box together.  She used a shiny piece of plastic gift wrap and tissue paper to cradle a large bead inside.  It was really sturdy and looks like an ornament.

An older trick is to wash out a plastic potato chip or snack bag with dish detergent and turn it inside out so that the silver side is facing out.  Most of the large plastic chips and snack bags have a bright silver interior.  Put the gift inside the recycled plastic gift bag and tie it shut with a colored ribbon.
