Basic Information: Painting from Imagination

My friend Holly Perkins finished this painting at the end of last year; the great part is this whole work is totally from her imagination.  Until now, she had been using a variety of   reference photographs for her paintings.  I love the colors and how expressive it is.  Having reference photographs is helpful if you are trying to work in a realistic style.  I depend on them continually.  Some people might not need them or want reference images.  If you have an idea or several ideas, experiment with cutting loose and see what you can do on your own.
