Art by Pam Batista of Chicago

June 14, 2011
I continued photographing current work by friend Pam Batista of Les Vieux Jours today.  I used a white paper sweep today of doing digital cut-outs in Photoshop like I did previously.  I shot the 3-D works in quick succession outdoors so the light would be bright and the same, then cropped and color corrected the photos.  Pam needed high resolution images quickly and using a paper sweep is the best way to get a clean background for items.  Tack the paper upright and let it curve down to the table top in a curve; this “sweep” makes a nice professional backdrop that has no seams.
