Artist of the Week: Willard Wigan

April 24, 2011

When I first heard about his art, I was so suspicious I thought it was a hoax.  Willard Wigan is known for creating microscopic sculptures, often smaller than the eye of a needle and highly detailed.  It is hard to understand how remarkable and tiny these works are, please see the two videos below.  Wigan has to search his environment for materials, create his own tools and maintain an astounding level of physical control.  His portfolio site lists current pieces for sale here which you can click the links for to see image enlargements.
