Drawing with an Illusion of Depth

March 7, 2011

My friend Noelle Perkins had a class assignment to create a drawing or image with an illusion of depth, and she came up with the great idea to use a mirror.  A lot of drawings or collages submitted in the class were of city streets and other forms of perspectival drawings; one particularly good drawing used the receding book shelves and lighting of the school library.  I thought Noelle’s idea was very clever.  Using a mirror in her created the illusion of depth and a more interesting basis for a portrait at the same time.
