ARTIST OF THE WEEK: BARBARA KRUGER

Babara Kruger has a distinctive, minimal style of collage art, often done in black, white and red; but one photo above is an installation piece. She has spent a lot of time focusing on imagery from mass media and questioning gender representations and is well known as a feminist artist.  Her web page at barbarakruger.com is not loading for me, so here is a PBS Art:21 link :

I often wonder how much she was influenced by Hannah Höch, see this piece from circa 1919 which is also based in collage from appropriated mass media sources:
